Teri Hawkins Bio
Teri Hawkins is a genius at life and a master in providing life-enriching experiences. She has a background that will impress the intellectual and awe the artistic. Her degrees, awards, titles and successes open the ears of the stubborn and relax the interrogation of the doubtful. Teri is one of those people who disarm with true self-acceptance. Her life story is the stuff of which novels are written. One moment you learn how she recovered from permanent paralysis, then maybe how from childhood poverty she became a millionaire by 30. Perhaps she will share the difficulties she had in learning how to stop stealing, then there is the journey she made to become recognized as one of America’s top female entrepreneurs. If you are truly fortunate, you will hear a touching favorite of how her mother taught her forgiveness in a moment that healed a childhood of heartbreak or how that same mother, 8 years later, went from being an idiot to a genius in 10 words.
It is through life-experience that we create who we are in this world. Unfortunately those experiences are usually partnered by a myriad of difficulties. After nearly loosing her life, freedom, self esteem as well as her ability to love and trust, Teri made a conscious decision to garner her wisdom in life without all the traumas and dramas attached. Thus began an exceptional career of creating life-changing experiences filled with peace, prosperity, happiness and ease. Teri lives what she teaches and teaches what she lives. Many say Teri Hawkins has had 3 lives in one. Teri sees it differently: “We learn through our experience of life - I simply have an awful lot to learn.”
At 35 years of age Teri received her most life-affirming award. It was when Og Mandino introduced her as “A True Creative Genius at getting people to think for themselves.”
Some of those degrees, titles, awards, successes include:
Who’s Who in International Inspirational Speakers, Certified Master Teacher, Author, Leadership and Parental Coach, Listed in America’s top 1000 female entrepreneurs, business columnist, USSA Salesperson of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Image consultant, Owner of Images Career and Casual Wear, Oregon's Woman of The Year, 4 time All-American, NCAA coach, Shaman of the Animal Lore, Ordained New Thought minister, graduate studies in organizational psychology and development, B.S. Education/Psychology, Phi Beta Kappa.
Most of us do not think for our self. We become cogs duplicating the thoughts we have learned from the machine of our upbringing. Our cog training has taught us to fear being wrong, that giving is better than receiving, that the past is unchangeable truth, gratitude is a politeness, forgiveness a gift to the other and creativity an aesthetic nicety. With the commitment to use our own minds we learn self-acceptance and the need to be right fades behind the knowing that all things are transient and there is no 1 “right” for everyone. My life is dedicated to creating experiences that show us where we are being cogs, empower us to find our own mind, and to do it all in an environment of fun, support and ease.
